MAZZY STAR AND MY DAD

I’ll never forget my dad cleaning our garage while listening to Mazzy Star one day. You have to understand my dad was a George Strait and Kenny Chesney type man. I never heard anything like it before. It was so off-brand and not the type of music I grew up around. I was obsessed. He told me his roommate showed them to him when he first moved to California in the 90s. I like to think back to my parents at that time and how different life must have been. Now every time I hear their music and I’m with people I love to say “ My dad showed me them”. It may not seem that exciting but it was a special memory to me.
